A blog about crafting, cooking, reading, family, and enjoying all this life has in store!

A gorgeous finish and a fun teaser!

It has been especially hectic around my home lately. I have been off the grid for a couple of weeks. I took a week off last week to get some major cleaning and organizing done, but instead managed to get nasty sick, I mean, the kind where you don’t even want to craft! So, that had me out of the game for a few days. After that, I did manage to get some fun things going on the crafting front.

First off, I finally finished this beauty! It is so gorgeous, I can’t wait to frame it and hang it on my wall!

And my second (and third projects), those fun super secret projects, have started to take shape. One is about a third done and I’ve started some motifs for the second one. (Two girls, so we need two of most things!) I am loving working on these so much!

I’m also working on a writing project for a submission deadline, so that is a new feeling for me. I have always written for only myself, so having a deadline to submit is scary. I’m not pressuring myself though. And even if I do get it in, there is no guarantee the publisher will select it. The process of writing is still so fun though! As a matter of fact, I better do some of that right now!

Hope you all have a happy, hectic, handmade day!

Things are growing!

There are a lot of things growing in my life.  My girls are growing faster than I can even believe and have become more like little girls than babies now.  The amount of clutter in my house has certainly grown!  (That is my next project!  Will post more on that another day!) But, not only that, when I have stopped and looked around this past week, I have seen that a lot of things around me are growing in one way or another.

My NIP (novel in progress) has grown an awesome amount in the past week.  I wrote 12,000 words!  This is the farthest I have ever gotten on a book since I normally got back and start criticizing myself.  This time, I have vowed not to even read any of what I have written until the entire thing is done!  What did my chosen genre end up being that inspired this flurry of activity, romance, of course!  I am totally enjoying the process more now that I have realized I am not an outliner.  I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of gal.  The characters are telling me where to go and I am adoring them!

My garden is growing.  We have already gotten a few peppers this summer, but look at what we have coming in now!

Look at this yummy bunch of tomatoes!

And last, but certainly not least, my collection of these fun little African Flowers are growing for a fun, fun project I’m making! I am going to leave it a secret for now, but will post more as it comes together!
