CAL’s and a little bad luck…

Well, I am back on track after taking the good part of a week to get over that stomach bug.

I am super excited to share my new project with you!  I came across a CAL for an awesome top being hosted by Calleigh’s Clips & Crochet Creations and could not resist signing up!

I went to the craft store and bought some great Simply Soft in a color called Limelight.  It is such a fun green!  I think the top we are making is going to look great in this!

Here is my progress so far IMG_1351_medium2

I have also been really working to finish a tote that I started on a while back to be my project/carry all bag. I used a multi colored Sugar and Cream I got on sale and I am loving the pooling
Tote Color

This is all while hooking away on some mittens to send to Pine Ridge Reservation’s preschool at the end of the summer.

Whew, I am making sure that hectic part is a well deserved name! Can’t wait to be able to post finished pictures for you all!

Have a happy, hectic, handmade day!

On the mend…

Well, I got all excited about letting you all into my life again, and then, go figure, I get ill.  I have been super sick with a very nasty bug since Saturday.  I wasn’t feeling up to working on any projects, so there is not much to updated.  Now that I am on the mend I plan to start getting hooky with it tonight!

I did finish reading my book and started on the next in the Susan Wiggs Lakeside series, Fireside.  There is a lot of time for reading when you have to lie around for days, but now its back to the mad rush of life!

Have a happy, hectic, handmade day!

I love a good love story…

So, I told you all yesterday that I had recently discovered a new genre of books for myself.  Now these are things other people have been reading for years and I foolishly stuck my nose up at them.  Romance novels.  I was walking through the grocery store and spotted a book with a cabin and a lake and thought, now that has to be my kind of book, much to my surprise it was a romance.  And to my bigger surprise, I fell in love with love!  I am currently working my way through Susan Wiggs Lakeshore series.  I can’t get enough of her rich and vibrant characters and the intertwining stories.  The one I am reading now is Snowfall at Willow Lake this is the fourth book in the series and I can’t wait to see what is going to happen with these characters.  The first book Summer at Willow Lake is such a wonderful introduction to this series for anyone who loves a story with great characters and vivid scenes.  I highly recommend these books to lovers of the genre or anyone who maybe thinks that they are not a fan of romance.  These books have put a serious dent on my crafting time!

What are you reading right now?  Have you read any of the Willow Lake books?  I love recommendations for new books too!  I would love to hear abut it in the comments!

Have a happy, hectic, handmade day!
