Pinterest Gourmet

So, as you might remember, I told you the other day that I am cooking new recipes off of Pinterest every day.  Well yesterday I knew that I had to get my SD to horseback riding lessons right after work, so I needed something I could throw in the crockpot that morning and be ready when we got home.  I found this Hawaiian Crock Pot Chicken from the Six Sisters’ Stuff Blog.  It was so simple!

Throw in the crock pot four boneless skinless chicken breasts, BBQ sauce (I couldn’t find Hawaiian so I substituted Honey), and a can of Pineapple.

Sorry for the dark photo! The sun was not up yet!

Luckily my husband was off, so I was able to have him switch on the crock[ot around two, but I could have set it to warm and cooked it longer if I would have needed to.  When I ran in to grab SD for her lesson, I could smell the sweet bbq smell and it made me hungry for my dinner!  I couldn’t wait to get home!  We cooked up some minute rice and served the chicken up on top of it.

I wish you could smell a photo!

This is definitely something we will eat again!  It was so tender and tasy!  I defnitely recommend this one!

I hope you have a happy, hectic, handmade day!

Man, I am really not good at this…

Not the having a happy, hectic, handmade home.  I got that down (especially the hectic part!)  I am not good at keeping up with this blog.  But, today, I missed it.  I have been working on so many projects, but not talking about a single one.  I share them on Ravelry, and I talk to my poor hubby about them (bless his heart, he even smiles and nods while I do), but I have just not been updating my blog with the fun things I have been up to.

So, without further ado, here is a quick update, along with my plans for the future of this blog.

I have been crocheting and cross stitching, making things for my little ones and even some things for myself.  Still have not busted that sewing machine out of its box.  One day, one day.  I have also been cooking.  Not the weekly baked treat I used to do, but cooking every single night.  Something new every night.  It has been such fun.  I love trying out new recipes.  I am getting into doing some charity work.  I have contacted DHR and will be assembling care bags for children removed from their homes with some handmade softies and small toys.  It is a scary time for them, and most have to leave with nothing, having a little bag of goodies to call their own can help in a small way for these little ones.

So, now, as for my plans for this blog.  I am so lucky to be able to have a space to share.  I am going to utilize it.  I will be back to chronicling my craft projects.  I also will be sharing my Pinterest Recipe adventure.  I get all my recipes off Pinterest and will blog each time I try a new one.  And, lastly, but probably most important, I will keep everyone up to date on the progress of my gift bags.

I hope that some of you are still out there and I hope you still want to here about my happy, hectic, handmade life!
