Listening To: Country Radio

Crocheting: Ravellenic Projects

Sewing: Still trying to get around to that pillowcase dress

Cleaning: The living room

Crafting: Nothing new yet

Special Events: SD coming home Wednesday

I made the Rice Crispy Treats last night.

Just three simple ingredients:

6 cups Rice Krispies

4 cups Marshmallows

3 Tablespoons Butter

Melt the butter and marshmallows together on the stovetop.  Add the Rice Krispies, mixing in one cup at a time.  Put in a 9×12 baking pan.  Press down with wax paper.  Easy Peasy!

I am focusing mainly on the Ravellenic projects this week.  I really don’t want to put them off and then end up getting myself stressed about finishing.  Once those are done, I will start exploring all the fun things I plan to make with my purchases this week!  Stay tuned for more updates on my Undersea Playset!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was so busy but so super fun and full of craftiness!  It is actually too much for one post, so I will have to do a follow up post on one of the crafts I worked on later.  🙂

To start, I will tell you about Friday.

I finished my Starling Handbag.  I am so pleased with how it turned out.  It is now my lunch bag for work.

Friday is always grocery day in my house.  I go pick up my mom and the girls and we head out to Walmart.  Now my Walmart does not have the best stock of crafty things, but I figured I would check to see if I could find any of the supplies I was hunting for.  You know, for science.  Imaging my surprise when I came out of Walmart with all this swag!

I never even thought about looking for the Acrylic paint there.  I was excited to see it when I was hunting for the brushes.  So that haul was a huge pack of brushes, 10 bottles of Acrylic paint, and the pack of pony beads.  Nice for a trip to the grocery store!

After I got home and the girls were settled snug in their beds, I pulled out the Ravellenic Box of Goodness and pulled out all the yarn for my first project.

This one worked up very quickly, but it is only half of the project, so you will have to wait for the big reveal!

Now Saturday we loaded up and headed out to Hobby Lobby.  Wow, did I score over there!  I am craftilicious now for a loooong time!

That’s 4 bandanas, Polyfill, 2 skeins of I Love This Yarn, 2 skeins of Aunt Lydia’s #10 thread, 3 packs of safety eyes, 2 packs of safety noses, 6 bottles of acrylic paint, a bottle of brush cleaner, more assorted brushes, a glue gun, tons of bags of wooden goodies, clear glaze coat, paper machet house, and 9 fat quarters!  Whew!  That was a lot to type!  I can’t wait to work with all of these goodies!  I have so many projects in mind I won’t be running out of blog posts for a while!

Now, Saturday night, I pulled out the yarn for the second part of my first Ravellenic pattern

This one didn’t work up quite as quickly, there was lots of sewing.  Just a little bit longer until reveal time!

Sunday.  What can I say about Sundays?  That is the day we try to reserve for nice family time.  There were chores to be done in the morning for both me and my husband but after that, we got to spend some fun time in the pool with the girls.  Oh, how they love the pool!  After all the swimming, they were worn out and settled in for a nice long nap.  Which is when I finally got to add the finishing touches to this:

The first part to the undersea playset!  Little Lobster and Baby Mermaid!   I love how they turned out!  I can’t wait to add some more friends for them!

Oh, and one last thing to post from yesterday.  Since my good friend Heather over at Dandelion Daze thinks only puppies and baby toes are more beautiful than a clean bathroom, this picture was taken special for her:

Pretty polished baby toes!  (Ok, maybe not the prettiest polish, but 19 and 6 months old don’t hold still all that well!)

I am off for now to try to get some more crafty goodness started up for the Ravellenics, but will be back in a bit for my start of the week post!  Hope everyone is having a creative, crafty, colorful day!

It’s Going to be a Fabulous Friday!

First, to fill you all in on the results of Toss-Up Thursday.  It turned out to be a success for me.  The first fun thing for a different type of day is the mail!  I love to get fun things in the mail, and when I got home and checked the box, this is what I found:

Oh how fun it is on the day that this magazine comes.  After Tutti-Toot gets her look at it (yes, my 19 month old daughter is the first to see it.  It allows me the chance to look at it myself without her grabbign it the whole time!), mom gets a browse.  Oh I have some fun ideas that are going to come out of this one!

The toss up dinner ended up being Burger King!  I know, not healthy at all, but so yummy!  After dinner I got girls ready and tucked into bed, then like a whirlwind I got the living room spic and span (well, what passes for it with a toddler and infant in the house).  There was one more thing left to do (more on that in a minute), and then it was crafting time!

While cleaning out some old craft supplies a couple of weeks ago, I found these:

I decided to work with the pink beads last night and after about an hours work I had a necklace, two bracelets, and a ring:

Today is the beginning of the Olympics, which also means something else in my crafty world!  The start of the Ravellenic Games!  Tonight at opening ceremonies, all of the Craftletes will start their respective projects.  I have been preparing, waiting, and carefully planning my strategy for weeks!  My final projects will be an Undersea Playset (this is composed of multiple free patterns I found), a beaded crochet bracelet, and a new hook case.  So, the other thing I mentioned having to do before starting the jewelry?  I got all my supplies together.  It is all out of my stash except the thread I will get tonight for the bracelet.  Here’s what the pile looked like:

And, again after a bit more organization, into a bin with patterns and anything else I thought I may need for the week:

This bin will now live next to my chair until the end of the Olympics.  I will keep you updated on my progress and post links to the patterns I am using as I start them.  I will be starting my first project tonight after the grocery store and there will not be any other crafting going on until these projects are completed.  I have today to get any work done on my exisitng WIPs before they come to a screeching halt.

Wish me and my team luck and good luck to any of you that may also be competing!  Let the games begin!
